Department of Environment and Geography - Human Geography - Health
Welcome to Health Studies
Macquarie University has a long tradition of teaching and research in the area of Health Studies. As befits its multidisciplinary nature, a range of departments across the University contribute to the Health Studies field. These include Anthropology, Biology, Business, Environment and Geography, Demography, Politics, Psychology and Sociology, to name just a few. Of these, the Department of Environment and Geography is formally responsible for coordinating offerings in this area.
The convener of the Health Studies Program at Macquarie is Ms Lindie Clark a human geographer with a background in health policy.
The Health Studies Program currently comprises of:
UNDERGRADUATE
- Bachelor of Health
- Bachelor of Arts - Psychology and Bachelor of Health
- Bachelor of Health (Honours)
A number of undergraduate health-related units are also open to students across the university, even if they are not enrolled in one of these formal programs of study: for example, HLTH 200 Contemporary Health Issues; HLTH302 Ethical and Legal Issues in Health and HLTH310 Health Promotion.
